Disney Pics Now Available!

Well, I finally caught a break. Things have settled down enough that I was able to get the Disney pictures posted to the web and on the blog. You can either check out the little bitty slide shows on the right, or you can go to the album and click "slideshow" to see big ones with these links:

Remembering Michell

Update: 2009-08-18
I've wanted to update this portion of my page for a while, but haven't been able to figure out how to handle it. So rather than change what I wrote before, I'm just tacking on this update, and leaving my original post below.

A year and a half ago, the death of my wife was a painful cut so fresh that it dominated my life and affected everything I did, including my posts to this blog.

My life is renewed now - God has brought me through the pain of my loss and helped me to re-establish myself. What was blinding pain is now a wistful sense of loss, and my memories of my wife bring me joy instead of sadness.

If you have experienced death recently, you probably know only pain... but let me assure you that God keeps his promises, and He can restore joy to your life:

Jeremiah 31:13
"I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow"

Michell, my wife for 10+ years, passed away on December 27, 2007, from complications with leukemia. If you ever met her, she had an impact on your life. If you ever spoke with her, you came away changed - uplifted, strengthened, encouraged.

I struggle to find words that can express the pain and longing I feel as I remember her, but simply can't. My help-mate, my best friend, my strongest ally, and my cheering section - all gone. I remember saying to her, "I can't imagine what I would ever do without you - and I never want to know." Well, now I am finding out, day by day, and still wish I never knew.

Our separation is not permanent. Michell had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and I know she has joined with the heavenly host around the throne. I know that I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, and that we will be reunited again. So before moving on, I ask you: have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior? My wife would have gladly given her life, if only one more would choose Him. If you don't know Him, please take a moment to check out the links below.
